Community Consultation and Engagement

Will the DPO be subject to community and stakeholder consultation?

Yes. Consultation about the project has commenced and will continue by BSL. Consultation will also be undertaken by the government - this is a requirement under the Act.

How can members of the community have their say?

Members of the community will be invited to share their ideas and have their say through community meetings, information sharing sessions and site tours. We also welcome feedback and input through Fitzroy.project@bsl.org.au . If you have any questions or suggestions, please get in touch.

We encourage you to sign up for updates by emailing fitzroy.project@bsl.org.au

How has BSL consulted to date?

We have consulted:
• People who work or live on site (our staff and residents).
• Local non-government organisations and charities
• Council
• Local community groups and resident associations and
• Local residents - through briefings, meetings, invitation to tours, personal calls and letters.
• Neighbours – through Community Information Nights

We anticipate holding further events that will provide opportunities for the involvement in shaping the outcome of the Fitzroy Site.

We acknowledge that we could have approached our neighbours earlier. We are committed to ensuring sufficient time is allowed to listen to views of the community and we will continue consultation into 2023 to ensure that this is done well.
