The Financial Empowerment & Resilience Network (FERN) is for anyone who would like to build their financial skills, knowledge and confidence.
Who is eligible?
Everyone. Sessions are delivered in English and are for people who manage their own or their family’s finances.
These 90-minute digital workshops are a great introduction to the Financial Empowerment & Resilience Network (FERN) program and developing practical skills for your own financial wellbeing.
Workshops offered this Spring term include:
- Banking basics
- Superannuation: Understanding your retirement fund
- Keeping safe online
- Creating financial goals
- Build your budget with KASH: Knowledge, Attitudes, Skills, and Habits
- Golden rules for consumers
- Using credit wisely
- Saving and Spending
- Understanding the basics of investing
What participants can expect
Participants in the free 90-minute digital workshops will engage in practical activities about financial knowledge, attitudes, skills, and habits that explore some of our participants’ most asked-for topics and fundamental aspects of financial wellbeing, creating your own financial goals.
Come to one workshop or come to them all. Join the network and you will be invited to participate in our free 1:1 coaching program as well. Please note our workshops and coaching are informational and educational in nature; we do not offer financial advice. We will provide confidential referrals where appropriate.
Skills learned
Budgeting, planning, prioritisation, making financial decisions and comparing products, using online tools, amongst many others.
