Saver Plus expands nationally to help all eligible people reach their savings goals

In July we were thrilled to announce that our hugely successful Saver Plus program – the world’s largest and longest-running financial education and matched savings initiative – is now available nationally through a new and innovative online model.

The  Saver Plus program, which BSL established with ANZ two decades ago and now delivers in partnership with The Smith Family, Berry Street and the Australian Government, has helped thousands of people in Australia develop critical life-long savings habits and financial confidence.

Participants set a goal, save for 10-months, attend online financial education workshops, then at the end of the program have their savings doubled by ANZ, up to $500. This money is then used to purchase education related items for themselves or their family. Expanding from an in-person service at just 60 sites nationally, Saver Plus is now a fully online platform offering huge benefits to households across the country. Participants now have the flexibility to access financial education and support from the comfort of their homes, empowering them to take control of their finances on their terms. 

Since its inception in 2003, Saver Plus has positively changed the lives of more than 57,000 Australians who have taken part. Through the program, participants have collectively saved over $28 million, with ANZ contributing over $23 million to help with education-related expenses. 

  Anyone who is eligible and has an internet connection can take part – we can’t wait to see as many people as possible signing up, hitting their savings goals and developing important savings habits that last a lifetime.
