This report describes the experience of BSL's Community Care Division in the Department of Human Services’ Southern and North and West Regions of Melbourne in responding to social isolation through its Socialisation Program.

Drawing on the views of participants and care managers, the author evaluates the effectiveness of this approach in addressing social isolation and considers the broader implications for care management programs generally and particularly for leisure and recreational services for older people and people with a disability.
