The Brotherhood of St. Laurence

Tim Gilley’s background is in public administration, social work practice, community development, research, and policy. His particular focus areas have been poverty, housing, and early childhood education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Social Administration, a Master of Social Work (empowering practice), and a PhD in early childhood education.

He has had major employment stints in local government, the Victorian state government, the Commonwealth Government, universities, and community-based organizations.

He believes that the two biggest challenges facing our civilization are climate change and economic and social inequality.
