This study attempts to quantify the problem of children growing up in poverty in Boroondara, a local government area in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

The authors draw on data from the 2001 census and other sources to describe family size and structure, employment rates, housing types, household income and other indicators of the extent and level of social exclusion.

This study was commissioned by Camcare, the Rotary Club of Hawthorn and Foundation Boroondara.
