David Jeffries is a Research Fellow within the Effective Practice in Education program at Australian Council for Educational Research. He is also an Adjunct Research Fellow in the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University. David has previously worked as a high school Mathematics and Physics teacher in rural public schools in South Australia and England and is currently the treasurer on his local government P-12 school’s Governing Council committee. 

His research interests are teaching and learning in science and mathematics, cognitive psychology, early childhood development and large-scale assessment. David’s PhD study was focussed on student and school factors that influence STEM subject choice in year 12.
