Principal, Inclusion

Matt Rose joined Research Policy and Advocacy as Principal, Inclusion in March 2026.

Matt has deep experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, policy and research. He has worked in the federal public service, as an advisor to a federal Senator, and in the not-for-profit sector in environment, sustainability and Aboriginal health. He came to BSL from VACCHO where he was the Executive Manager, Policy, leading government relations, advocacy and policy advice on Aboriginal health issues. He also previously worked in Kununurra with the Kimberley Development Commission and the Binarri-binyja yarrawoo Aboriginal Corporation.

Matt has also worked at OzHarvest as the National Advocacy and Sustainability Lead and at the Australian Conservation Foundation where he managed the economy and democracy program. He studied public policy and management and economics.
