In 2020, Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) and BSL celebrated our 15th year in partnership!

Our partnership is centred around BSL’s children’s programs in Fitzroy, VIC. A group of loyal and committed HSF employees volunteer their time every Wednesday morning to prepare a healthy breakfast for primary school aged children and their families that are living within the local neighbourhood.

Being located only a 10-minute walk from Melbourne’s CBD, volunteering before work is a perfect way for HSF’s employees to give back to the community.

One HSF volunteer said, “Breakfast Club is something that is really rewarding to be involved in. I think it is good that HSF has it (as an opportunity to give back to the community)”.

Another said, “Volunteering with the Brotherhood of St. Laurence is a great way to start your day. Before you start work you get to interact with a number of kids, cook breakfast and have a bit of a laugh and a bit of a joke.”

HSF employees have volunteered more than 2000 hours to support families experiencing disadvantage in Melbourne.
