Rev. Isuru Weliwatte
Board Chair
Rev. Isuru Weliwatte is an ordained Anglican minister with a decade of pastoral and leadership experience, complemented by professional expertise as a psychotherapist. He is committed to serving diverse communities through spiritual guidance, pastoral care, psychological counselling, and social justice initiatives. He currently serves as the Vicar of Christ Church Brunswick Anglican Parish, overseeing parish governance, vision development, worship administration, and community outreach.
He is a former Mental Health Clinician at Bendigo Community Health Services, providing psychosocial interventions, trauma therapy, client assessments, case planning, and contributing to strategic goals. He also served as Associate Priest at All Saints Anglican Church and Assistant Priest in various parishes from 2014 to 2025, offering liturgical ministry, pastoral counselling, youth leadership, and community engagement. Isuru also served as an interim member of the Chaplaincy Team at BSL in early 2025.
Isuru holds a Master of Psychological Counselling (2022), Master and Bachelor of Theology, and Bachelor of Commerce. He is a registered Marriage Celebrant and member of the Australian Counselling Association.
