Community Safety and Information Service
Our Community Safety and Information Service (CSIS) trains public housing tenants to provide a concierge service at the Collingwood, Fitzroy and Richmond public housing estates.
Trainees in the Community Safety and Information Service complete Certificates II and III training in security operations.
Classroom training and work placement
The program includes weekly classroom training and a year-long practical work placement in the reception areas of the high-rise towers located on the Collingwood, Fitzroy and Richmond public housing estates. Trainees provide concierge services such as access control, information and referral services to local residents.
Graduates of the program are supported into employment in the security industry by a dedicated field officer.
The program has been running for over 15 years and has maintained ongoing employment rates of graduates at above 70 per cent.
Who is eligible?
The Community Safety and Information Service program is open to public housing residents in the Collingwood, Fitzroy and Richmond area.
Candidates must be Australian / New Zealand citizens or permanent residents over 18 years old. Candidates must not already be in possession of a Certificate III.
