These three groups commissioned Essential Research to undertake a survey on energy affordability, building on work carried out by CHOICE in 2012.
The results of the Survey of Community Views on Energy Affordability include the following points:
- nationally, 84 per cent of Australians are concerned or very concerned about energy costs, despite spending more on other living expenses
- householders want state governments to help reduce their energy bills
- the most popular strategy to reduce energy bills is to help households and businesses save energy.
