Mischa Barr
Senior Manager, Policy
Mischa Barr joined the Research and Policy Centre team in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Centre for Australian Progress.
Mischa worked previously at Women’s Health Victoria, overseeing policy, advocacy and research across areas including sexual and reproductive health, prevention of violence against women, mental health and women's equality. In this role, she established and chaired the Women’s Mental Health Alliance and led the creation of shEqual, Australia’s movement championing gender equality in advertising.
She has also held senior policy roles within the Victorian Government, including in public health, mental health, disability services and child protection, working on important social policy reforms including the establishment of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
She has served on the committees of management of community organisations Inner Melbourne Community Legal and Project Respect and undertakes voluntary work with climate and environmental organisations.
