Research Fellow

Deborah joined the Research and Policy Centre team in 2018 after five years working with BSL colleagues on the evaluation of Education First Youth Foyers, in her role as Senior Researcher at BSL’s foyer partner Launch Housing.

Deborah has a PhD in Sociology and has wide experience in research into homelessness through her work at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne City Mission and Launch Housing. While much of her focus has been on youth, it has also encompassed research about young mothers, fathers and children experiencing homelessness.

Currently Deborah is undertaking an evaluation of Transitions to Work, a federally funded program to enable young people to pursue their employment goals.
