Education First Youth Foyer evaluation

Launch Housing and the Brotherhood of St Laurence are proud to be working on the development of the Education First Youth Foyers. We want young people to be independent, happy, flourish, get a job, work out who they are, explore what they want to do and make connections that will help them achieve their goals.

To make sure that Foyers are achieving good outcomes, we are doing a large evaluation supported by the Victorian Government. Our research is looking at how we provide services, the costs involved and whether we achieve positive outcomes for students.

From 2013 to 2017, we are surveying and interviewing Foyer students and young people in other homelessness services. We’re interested in figuring out what works best to help young people who are experiencing/at risk of homelessness.

To learn more about this study please see our EFYF evaluation information sheet.

The EFYF Evaluation is supported by the Victorian Government.

What are the Education First Youth Foyers?

Education First Youth Foyers (EFYF) are for young people aged 16–24 years old who want to study but can’t live at home. Education is central; our Foyers are student accommodation with coaching and support for young people who are motivated to study and work.
