Senior ECEI Coordinator - Hume Moreland and North East Melbourne

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior ECEI Coordinator to empower children and their families by leading a team using the early childhood early intervention approach.
Summary of program and its objectives
The Brotherhood of St Laurence drives change that promotes a compassionate and fair society where everyone has a sense of belonging. The National Disability Insurance Scheme has engaged Early Childhood (ECEI) Partners around Australia to deliver the ECEI approach, with the Brotherhood of St Laurence being the NDIS Partner for the North East Melbourne area, Hume Moreland area and Bayside Peninsula area.
The ECEI approach supports children aged 0-6 years who have a developmental delay or disability and their families/carers. Supporting families to help children develop the skills they need to take part in daily activities and achieve the best possible outcomes throughout their life is a fundamental part of the ECEI approach.
Main responsibilities of the role
The Brotherhood is seeking passionate and engaging individuals from the following disciplines: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Speech Pathology
You will lead a small team in delivering and implementing the NDIS ECEI approach within your contracted area. Ensuring that a high quality of service is provided to children and their families, you will build effective relationships with key stakeholders including children’s services providers, as well as work collaboratively with other teams within the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
A specialist in allied health or early childhood education, you have a true passion for delivering children’s services and are well regarded by your peers. You have experience in leading teams to achieve organisational outcomes, and your friendly and cooperative nature allows you to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels. To meet the selection criteria, candidate will require:
- relevant tertiary qualification, industry experience and registration with AHPRA or other relevant body
- extensive knowledge and application of early childhood development, developmental delay and the early intervention service sector
- ability to identify the needs of children and their families and make judgements regarding eligibility for ECEI NDIS support services and develop plans according to NDIA guidelines
- experience in mentoring and coaching team members to ensure consistency and quality within the ECEI team
- excellent communication skills to work honestly and in partnership with families regarding eligibility to NDIS supports
- demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the ECEI approach and early childhood best practice principles
- highly developed conceptual and analytical ability
- a demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively manage a complex case/client list
- experience in identifying and implementing continual service improvements
- highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to liaise and build collaborative positive working relationships with children, families and service providers
- highly developed time management and organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and change management
- understanding of and empathy with the values of the Brotherhood and the NDIS.
- experience in customer facing environments that support or provide services to the community will be highly regarded
- a commitment experience in delivering services using strengths based and person centred principles
- experience of working in service systems that inform and empower service users
- a background in or experience in working with CALD or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities will be highly regarded.
Salary will be between $80,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, plus allowance in lieu of vehicle. Attractive salary packaging provisions are available.
