Services for families and children

Brotherhood of St Laurence Craigieburn
Families and communities work together to enjoy activities and access services in the area around Craigieburn.

Napier Street Child and Family Resource Centre
This centre works with parents to assist their children to meet their full potential at each development stage of their pre-school life. The vast majority of our families have survived traumatic journeys to Australia as refugees and asylum seekers.

Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is a service provided by volunteers for children in the Fitzroy area. It offers a positive social environment and encourages children to practice healthy eating before school.

Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY)
HIPPY is an innovative project that trains and supports parents to take an active role in the education of their preschool-age kids.

Toy Library
Quality educational toys are available for loan to all families in the City of Yarra.

The Brotherhood has been involved with other agencies in documenting 'early years hubs' as an integrated approach to services for children and their families, as experienced in the City of Hume in Melbourne's north. Setting the hubs humming is a report from this work.
