Stepping Stones

About the program
While the transition to a new country can present women with new opportunities, cultural barriers and limited access to services can affect their ability to work. Stepping Stones offers mentoring, training and support to help women develop new skills and increase their participation in business and the community.
Run by the Ecumenical Migration Centre, Stepping Stones is offered to women from a refugee background in Melbourne’s inner north.
Who is eligible?
Women are eligible for Stepping Stones if they are:
- recently arrived as refugees
- living in the City of Yarra.
Features
Stepping Stones includes:
- business and financial literacy education
- skills development in areas such as art and craft product development
- visits to local and regional markets
- business mentoring.
