Social Inclusion Program

Participants braving the wind during a walk organised by the Brotherhood's social inclusion program.

About the program

Offered in the north and south of Melbourne and on the Mornington Peninsula, the Social Inclusion Program provides social activities and outings to older people, people with a disability and those managing a chronic illness.

The program aims to improve people’s wellbeing through social interaction, physical activity and nutrition. Activities include exercise classes, nature walks, meal preparation, dining out, art classes, music and theatre events and community celebrations, such as national days. Personal care attendants come along to each activity and transport is provided.

The Social Inclusion Program helps people build on their relationships, with friends, family and the community. It also allows them to discover hidden strengths and talents.
