Family Support

About the program
Most families can benefit from support, particularly at times of stress or difficulty. The Brotherhood’s Family Support program works with refugee parents and their children to assist in the family’s transition to a new country.
Our qualified social workers at the Ecumenical Migration Centre provide casework and support for newly arrived families and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
The program is part of the North East Metropolitan Child and Family Services Alliance, which is made up of nine community service organisations in the five local government areas of Yarra, Darebin, Whittlesea, Banyule and Nillumbik. We work with the other agencies in the alliance to provide coordinated service delivery.
The Child Family Information Referral and Support Team (Child FIRST) is the alliance’s central referral point for anyone with concerns about the wellbeing of a child. Child FIRST can be reached on (03) 9450 0955. The Brotherhood can also be contacted directly with any concerns.
