Child care

Children playing together in a Family Day Care environment. The Brotherhood offers a number of child care programs through our Connie Benn Centre in Fitzroy and our Craigieburn Centre.

The care we provide is both fun and educational, with particular attention given to the developmental needs of babies and children from families who have experienced refugee trauma and dislocation, and from those living in disadvantaged circumstances.

Our qualified carers offer developmental assistance, preparation for school and parental support. The programs allow parents time for work and respite, and help build parenting networks.

Family Day Care

With modern working hours extending outside the usual ‘9 to 5’, five-day week, many working parents struggle to find appropriate child care. Family Day Care (FDC) is high quality, flexible child care provided at low cost in the homes of registered, trained carers.

Respite and Occasional Care

Getting a break from parenting can be difficult for any parent, but if a child has special needs it can seem almost impossible. The Brotherhood offers flexible care with a priority given to refugee, at-risk and vulnerable children at our Connie Benn Centre in Fitzroy.
