Employment
Refugees face multiple barriers to employment. Discrimination, lack of access to child care, unrecognised qualifications and insufficient advice and guidance, combined with cultural differences and the effects of refugee experiences, can make it difficult for many job seekers to find and sustain work.
The Brotherhood aims to overcome these barriers by building partnerships with employers and assisting refugees back into the workforce with training and ongoing support.
Given the Chance is a training and employment program that provides refugees with supported work experience. It is designed for those who are ready to enter the Australian workforce but lack the local experience and work culture awareness needed to find and maintain employment.
Building Bridges is a training resource for employers of refugees participating in our Given the Chance program. It gives managers, mentors and buddies the skills they need to successfully integrate refugees into their workplace.
The Brotherhood is committed to helping job seekers get the skills and training they need to get work. We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), which means we can offer nationally accredited courses, pre-vocational training and Australian Apprenticeships.
