Corporate sponsorships

A sponsorship with the Brotherhood goes well beyond providing financial support. We see it as a long-term partnership that is tailored to your corporate culture, your employees’ interests and the needs of the community.

Below are some examples of how corporate sponsors are helping the Brotherhood make a difference in the lives of vulnerable Australians.
Breakfast Club
Operating every morning of the school term at the Atherton Gardens housing estate in Fitzroy, the Breakfast Club offers a healthy, free breakfast to approximately 50 primary school students from 7.30 am to 9 am. Most of the children attending the Breakfast Club have come to Australia as humanitarian refugees and have spent long periods of time in refugee camps. The club offers a consistent, safe, stable environment where strong attachments are formed. Staff from Freehills, Grocon, Pitcher Partners and Lander & Rogers volunteer once a week, on rotation, cooking healthy breakfasts and engaging with the children. These companies both fund and provide volunteers for the program, and the Breakfast Club could not operate without them.
Homework Centre
The Homework Centre provides tutoring to secondary school students living in the Fitzroy area, from 4 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Thursday. The majority of students attending the centre live in the Atherton Gardens housing estate and have a humanitarian refugee background. Often these young people are dealing with complex issues, in addition to needing assistance with their schoolwork. Corporate volunteering and funding play an important role in helping us meet the needs of this vulnerable group. Funding from AXA has allowed us to purchase a variety of study resources, including textbooks, calculators and computer software. In addition, volunteers from ANZ and GHD use their expertise to help students with their homework every week.
The Coolibah Centre
Our Coolibah Centre was established in 1946 as Victoria's first senior citizens’ centre. Located in Fitzroy, it provides daily meals, welfare support, health advice and recreational activities for older people experiencing homelessness or living in insecure accommodation in inner Melbourne. On weekday and Sunday mornings, we offer Coolibah members a free hot breakfast from 8.30 am to 9 am. We invite corporate volunteers to come in to cook breakfast and have a chat with the elders. The Coolibah relies on both corporate funding and corporate volunteering to operate. AXA and Lanier are its current corporate sponsors.
