Donate money
Melbourne comedian and writer Corrine Grant has created this special message of support for the Brotherhood’s work over Christmas.
Your donation to the Brotherhood is vital as it makes it possible for us to directly assist the most disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our society: children, young people, people who are unemployed, older people and refugees.
Financial gifts also enable us to develop and operate innovative programs, conduct research and run advocacy campaigns in order to initiate social change.
Through your compassion and financial support of our work, you can help us provide those in need with a brighter future, and have a lasting and positive impact on the community.
Please help us to continue our work for an Australia free of poverty.

Regular monthly giving
Solutions is the Brotherhood’s regular giving program.
Solutions is a convenient way of giving as your donation is automatically processed every month, saving you time and reducing administration costs for the Brotherhood. You can choose to make a donation either by credit card or direct debit from your bank account.
All of our Solutions partners are kept up to date with the Brotherhood’s work via our quarterly supporter newsletter, Building Better Lives.
If you’d like to become part of the solution and join the Brotherhood’s regular giving program, sign up online or download our regular giving donation form (PDF file, 82 KB) and post or fax it back to us.

Workplace Giving
Through Workplace Giving, employees can donate money regularly to the Brotherhood via automatic payroll deductions. A small contribution from each pay packet makes a huge difference to the lives of those experiencing poverty in our community.
This program gives employees an opportunity to assist vulnerable Australians, and provides the Brotherhood with long-term, stable funding that enables us to plan ahead. Being easy to set up and manage, it saves the Brotherhood admin costs, and it saves employees the headache of having to collect donation receipts.
Workplace Giving donations are deducted before tax is applied, reducing taxable income. For example, if an employee is taxed 40 per cent and makes a donation of $10, the employee only sees their actual cash income drop by $6.
In many instances, a company will match the amount donated by their employee up to a certain level. For example, if a company matches an employee’s pre-tax donation of $10, the employee’s salary sacrifice of $6 becomes a gift to the Brotherhood of $20.

Leave a bequest in your will
We hope that supporters who have admired the values and work of the Brotherhood during their lifetime give serious thought to including a gift to the Brotherhood in their will. Including such a gift will help us to continue to tackle the causes of poverty and to enable people to build better lives.
Your will is an important expression of your wishes. It specifies how your estate is to be divided among those who are important to you, and helps ensure that the loved ones you leave behind are spared many of the complications of finalising your affairs.
Making or revising your will does not need to be expensive, as our booklet Your Legacy: Making a bequest to the Brotherhood of St Laurence (PDF file, 2.72 MB) explains. This booklet also contains suggested wording. Please contact us if you would like a copy mailed to you.
If you have already included a gift to the Brotherhood in your will, please let us know so we can thank you personally. All information is treated in the strictest confidence.
