Donate goods

The Brotherhood of St Laurence relies on the kind donations of the public in the form of goods. These donations help us to stock our 20 Community Stores across Melbourne, Geelong and Frankson, where the items are sold at affordable prices and raise much needs funds for the organisation.

Goods donated by the public

You can donate goods, in good condition, in a number of ways:

  • Direct-to-shop donations
Our stores are happy to receive direct donations during trading hours.
View our full list of community store locations.
  • Free pick-ups
We can collect goods including, but not limited to, clothing, whitegoods and furniture from households in Greater Melbourne. To arrange your free pick-up please call 1300 DONATE (1300 366 283) or book online here.

We now service the Mornington Peninsula also - to enquire about a pick up email 1300donate@nullbsl.org.au

Goods donated by companies

If your business has customer returns, samples or end-of-line stock taking up valuable space, please consider donating the goods to the Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood can also partner with businesses to arrange a Corporate Clothing Appeal throughout metropolitan Melbourne. We place bins-on-wheels in the workplaces of participating companies for employees to deposit unwanted, good quality business and casual clothing.

If you would like to arrange for collection of donated goods, please phone 1300 DONATE (1300 366 283).

Mobile phones wanted!

The Brotherhood, in partnership with Aussie Recycling Program ARP, is now recycling mobile phones and their spare parts. You can donate your unwanted mobile phones via collections boxes at any of our Brotherhood community stores.

Fridges wanted!

Our fridges program gives donated fridges a new lease of life by making them more energy- and cost-efficient. To donate a fridge and arrange collection, please complete the collection form or phone 1300 DONATE (1300 366 283).

Top 5 donation tips
  1. Shoes need a mate, so tie their laces together so they don't separate
  2. So we can make more loot from your suit, tie the sleeve and leg together
  3. As hard as we try we can't sell your old knickers and socks
  4. If the outfit is complete with a belt, make sure to attach it
  5. Wrap breakable items in paper or bubble wrap and mark the box 'fragile'

Please donate direct to your closest Brotherhood community store.
