Connecting Young People to Real Jobs
About the program
Connecting Young People to Real Jobs is a youth training and employment partnership between the Brotherhood of St Laurence and Delfin Lend Lease for young people living in Caroline Springs. It is funded through the Victorian Government’s New Workforce Partnerships program.
The project provides industry–school–community forums, industry taster programs and customised training and work placement, with access to a wide range of trades. Young people have the opportunity to discuss workplace needs and expectations, hear first-hand accounts of industry environments, and are linked into employment opportunities in the local community. In this way the project responds to local labour market needs and skill shortages.
Who is eligible?
Any young person aged 15 to 24 living within Caroline Springs or the surrounding area who:
- is thinking of leaving school and not sure what path to take, or
- has left school before the end of Year 12, or
- is looking for work
- Industry–school–community forums
