Connecting Young People to Real Jobs
About the program
Connecting Young People to Real Jobs is a youth training and employment partnership between the Brotherhood of St Laurence and Delfin Lend Lease for young people living in Caroline Springs. It is funded through the Victorian Government’s New Workforce Partnerships program.
The project provides industry–school–community forums, industry taster programs and customised training and work placement, with access to a wide range of trades. Young people have the opportunity to discuss workplace needs and expectations, hear first-hand accounts of industry environments, and are linked into employment opportunities in the local community. In this way the project responds to local labour market needs and skill shortages.
More than 40 young people are expected to gain full-time employment as a result of the initiative.
