EMC Family Services Team Leader  


HOURS:        0.8 EFT (4 days a week)
LOCATION:   EMC,123 Brunswick St Fitzroy

An exciting opportunity exists to lead the Family Services Team at EMC in its CALD-specific family support within the North West region of Melbourne. The client work involves casework, family relationship counselling and groups with refugees and asylum seekers, as well as practical parenting support and referrals to other services with presenting issues.

This role will work collaboratively with the EMC Programs Manager and will therefore participate in a range of management functions. The role's key objectives are to:
1. Oversee the service delivery and compliance across the programs, managing existing and future stakeholder relationships.
2. Carry a small caseload as well as provide supervision and support to the program staff, volunteers and students to maintain best practice;
3. Ensure the team's programs operate in an integrated and coordinated way and meet funding requirements whilst in line with quality standards;
4. Play a leading role to ensure we're responding to the needs of recently-arrived refugee communities, including asylum seekers, by informing:
a. proposals to existing and future funding stakeholders, to develop a more diverse service base for the Centre; and
b. advocacy and policy submissions, to capture trends and needs of these communities.

You will be a highly motivated and organized person with a passion for, and have extensive experience leading and supervising practitioners in individual and family counselling and support work. This position is Part Time (0.8 EFT - 4 days a week) and the salary will be based on the SACS Award (Social Worker Class 3) in the range $60,714.65-$64,317.38 per annum, based on qualifications and experience. Compliance Coordinator

LOCATION:   Fitzroy

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced RTO, HESG and ACFE Compliance Coordinator to join the Brotherhood of St Laurence Training Services team.
 
The Brotherhood of St Laurence Work and Learning division offers a diverse range of services and initiatives to help people into work and strengthen families, individuals and communities. Services and programs are delivered through a range of mediums and locations across Melbourne.

The Compliance and Quality Officer is responsible for the provision, maintenance, and administration  of policies, procedures and practices to support compliance with VRQA, AQTF and ASQA conditions and standards of registration, Higher Education and Skills Group (HESG Victorian Training Guarantee) and Adult and Community and Further Education (ACFE) Funding Guidelines.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Manage and maintain systems, policies and procedures associated with the complaint operations of the Training Services department
• Manage and maintain activities related to compliance with AQTF, VRQA and ACFE conditions and standards for continuing registration.
• Maintain a range of administrative systems and procedures to support a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
• Data entry of trainer and participant feedback questionnaires into SMART and monthly production of summary reports.
• Conduct rolling 6 monthly internal audit of the RTO, Learn Local and Higher Education and Skills Group against AQTF/VRQA standards and conditions for continuing registration and funding agreements  and report any issues, risks or non-compliance to the Senior Manager, Training Services and provide recommendations for rectification.
• Participate fully in all internal and external audits to ensure our compliance to registering and funding contracts.
• Liaise with Training Coordinators to ensure the collection of a range of administrative and evidentiary requirements collected from coordinators, trainers and students is compliant with Victorian Qualification Registration Authority (VQRA) and Australian Qualification Training Framework (AQTF) conditions and standards of registration
• Prepare, maintain and update training templates and forms such as handbooks, attendance sheets, assessment record sheets and enrolment forms to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a range of summary statistics (monthly file audits, training package transition notifications, commencements/completions etc) and provide fortnightly reports of these summaries to the Senior Manager Training Services


KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
• Preferable with minimum or equivilent of 3 years compliance experience with RTO conditions and standards of registration
• Demonstrated experience in complying with performance and funding agreements, in particular Higher Education and Skills Group (Skills Victoria), ACFE and DEEWR.
• Understanding of Adult, Community and Further Education board registration requirements
• Demonstrated experience using VetTrak
• Demonstrated experience in quality assurance systems.
• Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace training or Training and Assessment - preferred
• Highly developed computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office Software.
• Advanced administration, organizational, prioritizing and time management skills.
• Self motivation, with the ability to interact with and contribute to a team.
• Supervision, mentoring skills
• Ability to take initiative when working in isolation
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to advise and liaise across all levels of the BSL and external organisations.
• Understanding of and sympathy with the values and ideals of the BSL.

Administration and Reception

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate administrator and receptionist to join the Brotherhood of St Laurence Training Services team.
 
The Brotherhood of St Laurence Work and Learning division offers a diverse range of services and initiatives to help people into work and strengthen families, individuals and communities. Services and programs are delivered through a range of mediums and locations across Melbourne.

We are seeking a multi-tasker who is passionate about supporting the needs of a growing training facility  to join the Training Services Team. You will be responsible for the presentation of the training facility, course and room set up, processing of student and visitor enquiries and supporting the administrative work of the Training Services team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Manage the training facility presentation and reception area
• Handle all enquiries in a professional manner to a prescribed standard
• Collect and maintain the client database of enquiries and enrolments
• Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the training facilities
• Provide administrative support to the Training Services team
• Student administration including filing and data entry
• Manage the training room booking system

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
• Demonstrated experience in reception and administration roles.
• Well developed computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office Software.

CSIS Team Leader

An exciting opportunity to join a cohesive team to support employment projects for marginalized jobseekers within the BSL’s Work and Learning Division.

The Team leader is responsible for overseeing trainees and contracted staff to competently manage access control systems on high-rise estates within the City of Yarra as well as providing day to day support to the 2IC team leader. The key responsibility of this role is to supervise, mentor and coach a group of trainees who are undertaking a year long training and work placement program designed to develop skills and a work history to assist them to gain mainstream employment upon program completion.

Main responsibilities of the role:

1) Lead a group of up to 10 Trainees on a year long traineeship in Security Operations
2) Manage all day to day operational concerns by providing guidance, advice and program policy information to ensure the effective implementation of appropriate services which meet the contract specifications.
3) Ensure that the programs key functions in controlling building access, gathering appropriate data and providing/distributing information to tenants are delivered in a professional manner.

The ideal applicant will have:
•  A current combined Certificate 2 & 3 Security licence
• Highly developed coaching, mentoring and supervisory experience within the Security industry
• High level administration skills including data base and statistical data management
• Organisational and time management skills as well as ability to work in a flexible and dynamic environment

This role includes media relations and identifying and developing opportunities and strategies to achieve our communication goals.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have extensive experience as a journalist and/or in dealing with mainstream media, good media contacts and the ability to develop new ones
• Have excellent writing, analytical, interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Be able to develop and implement creative communication strategies
• Be resourceful in finding, developing and showcasing information and stories for the media, social media and other channels
• Work well under pressure and to multiple deadlines
• Enjoy working in a team and with internal and external stakeholders
• Have an understanding of and empathy for the vision of the Brotherhood

This is a fulltime position.  Salary will be 70,000 per annum.  Attractive salary packaging provisions are available.
