Contact us

The Brotherhood of St Laurence has created the Good Conversations Program to put people in contact with each other so they can have a regular chin wag over the phone.

This program is aimed at people who live in remote or rural communities, people who are housebound or no longer drive, and those who have restricted mobility due to illness or disability.

Chatting over the phone – about current affairs, books, interests, hobbies and what’s happening in Victoria – is a great way to meet different people and make new friends.

Want to get involved? Volunteers are crucial for the success of the program as volunteers facilitate the connection between people. Being a facilitator involves only one hour’s training and you can connect people from your own home.

Who is eligible?

The Good Conversations Program caters for people who:

  • live in a rural or remote community in Victoria
  • are housebound
  • have limited mobility due to illness or disability
  • are aged 55+.
