About the program
Our Group Training Company (GTC) uses the Australian Apprenticeships scheme to provide intensive personal and vocational support to help trainees find and keep a mainstream job.
Through the program, the GTC directly employs trainees and apprentices and places them with 'host employers', including the Brotherhood, across a range of industries. As the legal employer, the GTC looks after superannuation, payroll, WorkCover, training and any other administration associated with the employment contract.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the Brotherhood provides the training required, sometimes in partnership with other RTOs.
As well as supporting trainees and apprentices on the job, the GTC also provides regular support to the host employers.
The GTC is located at the Brotherhood's Centre for Work and Learning.
Who is eligible?
Anyone eligible to work in Australia can undertake an Australian Apprenticeship. Students are also eligible to undertake a traineeship by completing an Australian School Based Apprenticeship (ASBA). An ASBA can count as part of the Victorian Certificate of Education or Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning.
