Children and families

Every parent wants to give their child the best start in life, but for those experiencing social or financial difficulties, family life can be challenging. For isolated, newly arrived or economically disadvantaged families, accessing services such as child care or supporting their child’s development can be a struggle. Sometimes parents need additional support to help deal with problems.

The Brotherhood cares for the needs of both children and parents, working alongside families to help them be strong, healthy and happy.

We assist families through:

Through HIPPY Australia, the Brotherhood operates a national program to help families and communities develop literacy and numeracy skills in preschool children.

Our services for children and families are based at our Napier Street Child and Family Resource Centre, our Craigieburn Centre and our Ecumenical Migration Centre.

Breakfast Club Choir

To celebrate the 2010 festive season, our Breakfast Club formed a choir and recorded an energetic and inspiring song, directed by Brotherhood Ambassador Jonathan Welch. Find out about the Breakfast Club Choir
