Student placements

Undergraduate and postgraduate student placements create a valuable interface between the Brotherhood and Australia’s future professionals and policy-makers. Many students have completed some of their course requirements with us, often for social work, but also for social policy, advocacy, community development and medicine.

The benefits of a student placement can be enormous, for both the Brotherhood and the student. Students contribute their enthusiasm and a familiarity with the latest literature, online resources and software. Postgraduates may also bring specialist knowledge. In turn, a placement with the Brotherhood can transform a student.

If you are interested in a student placement with us, please make direct contact with the Brotherhood department or program you are interested in working with. Make sure you apply well in advance, providing details of course requirements, subjects studied and your personal interests. As managing placements can be work-intensive for our staff, we can only take limited numbers.
